Who we are

itoolsx.com ("iToolsX", "we", "us") provides free online tools for PDF editing, document conversion, image conversion and compression, number conversion, and simple calculations. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you visit the website or use a tool, why it is processed, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. Information we process

You can use every tool without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details.

Contact information

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include, and your message. We use it only to reply, investigate a reported issue, or improve the website.

Usage and device data

Like most websites, our server and our service providers automatically receive technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring page, approximate time of visit, and diagnostic logs. We use this to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, measure performance, and fix broken tools.

Uploaded files and tool input

Most tools never upload your file. The PDF tools (merge, split, reorder, compress under 4 MB, rotate, delete, extract, crop, watermark, sign, page numbers, PDF to JPG, and the visual PDF editor), images to PDF, compress image to KB, the social media image editor, metadata cleaner, QR, barcode, and design tools process files inside your browser. Those files stay on your device and are not sent to our server.

Server-processed tools. DOCX to PDF, PDF to DOCX, JPG to PNG, Convert to JPG, and Compress Image upload your file over an encrypted HTTPS connection so our server can convert it.

Uploads are limited in size (300 MB per document; 10 MB per image and 50 MB per image batch) and are rejected before processing if they exceed those limits.
Document conversion uploads and results are deleted immediately after the converted file is sent back to you.
Image conversion results are deleted automatically within 3 minutes, or immediately when you press Delete from server.
Every PDF tool includes a Delete file button that removes the file from the page at any time.
Uploaded and generated files are never published, shared, sold, used for advertising, or used to train any model, and they are excluded from search indexing.
Please do not upload sensitive, confidential, or illegal files, or files you do not have the right to process.

Cookies and similar technologies

itoolsx.com and its partners use cookies, web beacons, local storage, and similar technologies. They fall into three groups:

Necessary: used to deliver the site securely and remember your consent choice. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand which tools are used and where errors happen.
Advertising: Google AdSense and its partners' cookies, used to show, limit, measure, and (with consent where required) personalize ads.

Some browser tools also use your browser's local storage to remember settings such as a preferred page size. That data stays on your device.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to show ads that keep the tools free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to itoolsx.com and/or other sites on the Internet.

Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons, IP address, and device identifiers to serve and measure ads. A list of the ad technology providers Google works with is available in your consent settings.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic, such as which tools are popular and which pages fail. Google Analytics collects device, browser, and approximate location data (IP addresses are not logged or stored by GA4). You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Consent and your choices

Before choosing, Google Consent Mode keeps advertising and analytics storage switched off. The consent banner lets you accept advertising and analytics or reject optional cookies; necessary storage is used only to provide the site and remember your choice. You can change or withdraw optional consent at any time. Where required by law, Google advertising partners should not receive personalized advertising signals until you consent.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Privacy & cookie settings link, which also appears in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools still work without advertising cookies.

Why we process data (legal bases)

To provide the tool you request (performance of a service you ask for).
To secure, debug, and improve the website (our legitimate interests).
For analytics and personalized advertising (your consent, where the law requires it).
To reply to your messages (your request and our legitimate interests).

We do not sell personal information for money. Google and its partners act as independent controllers for the data they collect through their cookies; their processing may involve transfers outside your country under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

How long we keep data

Browser-processed files: never stored by us.
Server-processed document files: deleted right after conversion.
Server-processed image results: deleted within 3 minutes, or immediately on request.
Server logs: kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
Google Analytics data: retained according to the retention settings configured in our Analytics account.
Emails: kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA, or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email support@itoolsx.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Data security

The site is served only over HTTPS, uploads are validated by type and size, temporary files are kept outside public indexing and removed automatically, and access to the server is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid uploading files that need special protection.

Children's privacy

itoolsx.com is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools, analytics, or advertising practices change. The current version is always on this page with its "Last updated" date.
